Hierarchical Task Analysis

  • Process of decomposing tasks into subtasks
  • For learning systems, the required skills and knowledge can be extracted for each sub task given you a hierarchy of what you need to accomplish the task.
  • Caution: this can really get out of hand. Many designers are moving away from creating these tasks (see "Attack on ISD")
