Asian and Near Eastern Languages

American Oriental Society (AOS) - the AOS promotes the studies of such subjects as basic research in the languages and literatures of Asia , philology, literary criticism, textual criticism, paleography, epigraphy, linguistics, biography, archaeology, and the history of the intellectual and imaginative aspects of Oriental civilizations, especially of philosophy, religion, folklore and art.

Middle East Studies Association of North America (MESA) - MESA focuses on the study of the Middle East since the rise of Islam, principally from the viewpoint of the humanities and the social sciences. Its membership is international.

Mongolia Society (MS) - The Mongolia Society was founded in late 1961 as a private, non-profit, non-political organization interested in promoting and furthering the study of Mongolia, its history, language, and culture. The aims of the Society are exclusively scholarly, educational, and charitable.

Society for Armenian Studies (SAS) - The aims of SAS are to promote the study of Armenian culture and society, including history, language, literature, and social, political, and economic questions; to facilitate the exchange of scholarly information pertaining to Armenian studies around the world; and to sponsor panels and conferences on Armenian studies.

American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) - AATG is the only national individual memebership organization dedicated to the advancement and improvment of the language, literature, and culture of the German-speaking countries. With over 7,300 members, the AATG is for teachers of German with students in all levels of instruction.

Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) - The purpose of the Association is the promotion of research and education in Baltic Studies. Its activities include sponsorship of meetings and conferences for the exchange of scholarly views, promotion and evaluation, and dissemination of news of current interest in the area of Baltic Studies.

Bulgarian Studies Association (BSA) - BSA is a not-for-profit scholarly organization which promotes the study of and exchange of knowledge about all aspects of Bulgaria and Bulgarians: language, literature, culture, history, and more.

Humanities, Classics, and Comparative Literature

British Comparative Literature Association - The British Comparative Literature Association (BCLA), founded in 1975, aims to promote the scholarly study of literature without confinement to national or linguistic boundaries, and in relation to other disciplines. The BCLA's primary interests are in literature, the contexts of literature and the interaction between literatures.

Latin American Studies Association (LASA) - LASA is the largest professional association in the world for individuals and institutions engaged in the study of Latin America. With 4,400 members, twenty percent of whom reside outside the United States, LASA is the one association that brings together experts on Latin America from all disciplines, and diverse occupational endeavors, across the globe.
